Easy Mango Milkshake Cuban-Style!
In 2004, I traveled to Cuba and met a handsome 24 year old that would end up being my future husband! Willy and I have now been married almost 8 years now, and our favorite thing to do is cook Cuban food for dinner together. I usually make the side dishes and he makes the main course! As the weather gets hotter here in North Carolina, Willy loves to make batidos de mango (Mango Milkshakes) after dinner or for a snack alongside a sandwich. If you love mangos as much as we do, you have to try out this recipe for an easy mango milkshake that he made in our new Vitamix E310 Explorian Series blender! Keep reading for our thoughts on this new budget-friendly blender from Vitamix! The milkshake only has 3 main ingredients and tastes amazing! This Cuban-style easy mango milkshake is the perfect summer treat!
The Vitamix You can Afford!
I was so thrilled to learn that Vitamix came out with a new, more affordable blender that still works with the same power as the more expensive Vitamix blenders! The blender is the Vitamix E310 Explorian Series and it is amazing! For just the fraction of the price of the usual Vitamix blenders, you can get many of the same features in this model! Vitamix definitely didn’t skimp on quality or performance with the E310. The E310 is the perfect blender if you regularly make smoothies, nut butters, or baby food! It can even make hot soup right in the container! It makes the perfect gift for busy moms!
Pros of the Vitamix E310
The cost is by far the biggest pro of this Vitamix model. With the Vitamix E310 Explorian Series, you get the same Vitamix quality at a fraction of the price! This model also has simple controls, there is a speed setting from 1 to 10, pulse setting, and on and off button. Anyone can use it, even without reading the manual first. Another pro is that the 48 oz. container that comes with the blender is the perfect height to fit on your kitchen counter under your cabinets. Bigger blender containers usually won’t fit on the counter under cabinets! The 48 oz. container is also ideal for making one or two servings or three smaller servings.
Cons of the Vitamix E310
Since the Vitamix E310 Explorian series is available for a smaller price tag, there are a few cons to this model as well. The controls are simple, which is nice, but there are no pre-programmed options on this model. So when making a recipe, you won’t be able to “set it and forget it”. The smaller container may also be a con for some people if you need more than one or two servings of a recipe. Another con is that the the Vitamix E310 doesn’t come with a single cup option. There is an option to buy an adapter for a single cup separately, however.
Easy Mango Milkshake Recipe
This easy mango milkshake is my go-to summer treat! I love the mango flavor and the sweetened condensed milk makes the milkshake creamy and smooth! We live in North Carolina, where good fresh mangoes are hard to come by, so we mostly use frozen mango chunks for this recipe. You can definitely use fresh mango, though! If you use fresh mango, you may want to add more ice for a thicker milkshake. We also use whatever milk we have on hand. We usually have 1% milk, but skim, 2%, or whole milk will work too!
